For proper
storage of frozen food, holdover plate surface area must be
increased over that of the same refrigerated space. A spillover
freezer/refrigerator system consists of two holdover plates in
one section of the box. The box is divided by an air tight
insulated wall. A self contained temperature controlled air
damper (thermodamper) is fitted at the bottom of the divider
wall. A return air port is fitted in the top of the divider wall.
This thermodamper automatically controls the amount of cold air
flowing between the freezer and the refrigerator.

SINGLE
VALVE
(Series
Systems)
In a large cabinet, or if
the freezer section is not large enough to fit plates to cool
both refrigerator and freezer, a series system will be needed.
This system has two plates in the freezer and one plate in the
refrigerator. All three plates are piped in series. The
refrigerant flows from one valve to the freezer plates and from
there to the refrigerator plate.

TWIN
VALVE
(Two
Zones)
Two zones may be obtained
by solenoid switching the refrigerant flow. Two valve units are
used, one for the freezer and one for the refrigerator. The
freezer, refrigerator or both may be operated. This is used where
the freezer is not always needed, where the freezer needs more
running time than the refrigerator, or where the cabinets are not
adjacent to each other.
